Down the Rift Valley to the Mara

The Maasai Mara is the reason most people come to Kenya, and three days is enough to see why: rich tree-studded grassland, rolling hills, and game concentrations that few reserves anywhere can match.

This is our most popular short safari and the easiest to extend — add a night, add Lake Nakuru on the way, or finish on the coast.

Day by day

1. Day 1 — Maasai Mara

   Depart Nairobi in the morning for the Maasai Mara through the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive is taken. Dinner and overnight at a lodge.

2. Day 2 — Maasai Mara

   Spend the day viewing across the rich tree-studded grassland and rolling hills. Siesta at the lodge, or visit Maasai villages at a small fee paid separately. Meals and overnight at the lodge.

3. Day 3 — Nairobi

   Pre-breakfast game drive, then breakfast and depart for Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon.
